Result
Your answer: —  Â·  Correct: A
Explanation

Agnimitra was the second king of the Shunga (Sunga) dynasty, succeeding his father Pushyamitra Shunga around 149 BCE [t3][t6]. Pushyamitra Shunga, a Brahmin army chief, established the dynasty after assassinating the last Mauryan emperor, Brihadratha [t1][t6]. Agnimitra is famously known as the protagonist of Kalidasa's Sanskrit play, 'Malavikagnimitra', which narrates the love story between King Agnimitra and Malavika, a maiden in the queen's service [t6][t7]. During his reign, Agnimitra is credited with the conquest of Vidarbha and maintaining the suzerainty established by his father [t2][t5]. The Shunga dynasty, which ruled for approximately 112 years, was eventually succeeded by the Kanva dynasty after the last Shunga ruler, Devabhuti, was killed by his minister Vasudeva [t2][t7].
