The AH-64E (I) Apache Guardian helicopter is manufactured in the USA by Boeing [1]. The Indian Air Force (IAF) signed a contract with the United States government and Boeing in September 2015 for the procurement of 22 Apache helicopters [1]. The first helicopter was officially handed over to the IAF during a ceremony at Boeing's production facility in Mesa, Arizona, on May 10, 2019 [1]. While the fuselages and secondary structures are manufactured in Hyderabad, India, through a joint venture called Tata Boeing Aerospace (TBAL) as part of the 'Make in India' initiative, the final assembly and the aircraft's origin remain with the American aerospace giant Boeing [1]. The acquisition was conducted through a combination of direct commercial contracts and the U.S. Foreign Military Sales program.
