Sowa-Rigpa, commonly known as the Tibetan system of medicine, is practiced in the Himalayan regions including Ladakh, Sikkim, and Arunachal Pradesh. In 2019, the government further strengthened this inclusion by upgrading the National Research Institute of Sowa-Rigpa to a National Institute in Leh [1]. Today, the acronym AYUSH officially represents Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Sowa-Rigpa, and Homoeopathy [2]. Reiki is not an officially recognized system under the Ministry of AYUSH framework.
