The Western Air Command (WAC) is the largest operational command of the Indian Air Force. Its headquarters is located at Subroto Park, New Delhi [1]. Originally established as the No. 1 Operational Group in 1947, it was renamed Operational Command in 1949 and finally designated as Western Air Command on June 10, 1963 [2]. The command is responsible for the air defense of sensitive regions including Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.
