Department of Public Enterprises is a part of

Result
Your answer: —  Â·  Correct: A
Explanation

The Department of Public Enterprises (DPE) is currently a part of the Ministry of Finance. Historically, the DPE was under the Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises [3]. However, in July 2021, the Government of India shifted the DPE to the Ministry of Finance to facilitate better coordination regarding the performance, capital expenditure, and privatization of Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs). Following this reorganization, the Ministry of Finance expanded to include six departments: Economic Affairs, Revenue, Expenditure, Financial Services, DIPAM, and DPE. Consequently, the former parent ministry was renamed the Ministry of Heavy Industries. The DPE remains the nodal department for formulating policies pertaining to CPSEs, including performance evaluation and the conferring of 'Ratna' status [2].
