Originally incorporated as Gwalior Rayon Silk Manufacturing (Weaving) Co. Ltd., the company's registered office remains in Birlagram, Nagda. While other regions in Madhya Pradesh like Pithampur and Jabalpur are associated with automobiles, Nagda's industrial identity is fundamentally linked to the man-made cellulosic fibre industry.
