Your answer: —  Â·  Correct: D
Explanation

The Andaman and Nicobar Command (ANC) is India's first and only integrated tri-service theatre command, established on October 8, 2001. It was not set up by the British during the Second World War; rather, it was created following the recommendations of the Group of Ministers (GoM) after the 1999 Kargil War to enhance synergy between the Army, Navy, and Air Force. During World War II, the islands were briefly occupied by the Japanese and handed over to the Provisional Government of Free India (Azad Hind) in 1943 . The ANC is headquartered at Port Blair and is commanded by a three-star officer (Commander-in-Chief, Andaman and Nicobar Command), who can be from any of the three services. This unified structure allows for effective maritime surveillance and security in the strategically vital Bay of Bengal and Malacca Strait regions.
