The Vice-President is elected by an electoral college consisting of members of both Houses of Parliament (Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha), including both elected and nominated members [1]. According to Article 67, the Vice-President holds office for a term of five years from the date on which he enters upon his office [1]. Therefore, the statement claiming he is not eligible for re-election is incorrect.
