The meeting of Indian and British political leaders during 1930-32 in London has often been referred to as the First. Second and Third Round Table Conferences. It would be incorrect to refer to them as such because

Contemporary accounts and reference works describe the events as a series of meetings conducted in three sessions to consider constitutional reforms for India, explicitly characterising them as sessions of one conference rather than distinct conferences [1]. Thus labelling them as First, Second and Third Round Table Conferences is misleading in form: they were sequential sessions of the same Round Table exercise called by the British government, even though participation and outcomes varied between sessions.
