Deendayal Port is located at

Deendayal Port, formerly known as Kandla Port, is located in the Kutch district of Gujarat on the western coast of India [1][2]. Situated at the head of the Gulf of Kutch, it was developed in the 1950s to serve as a major gateway for western and northwestern India after the Port of Karachi was lost to Pakistan during the partition [2][3]. It is a major tidal port and one of India's busiest maritime hubs, specifically designed to handle large volumes of petroleum, petroleum products, and fertilizers [1][2]. In 2017, the port was officially renamed Deendayal Port under the Indian Ports Act, 1908 [4]. It remains a critical economic asset for Gujarat, consistently ranking as one of the largest ports in India by cargo volume handled [3][4].
