A British citizen staying in India cannot claim Right to

A British citizen (a foreign national) in India cannot claim the fundamental right to practice any profession or carry on any trade or business because Article 19 freedoms are conferred only on citizens. Texts note that certain fundamental rights, notably Articles 15, 16 and 19, are confined to citizens and aliens do not possess them [1]. By contrast, Article 14’s guarantee of equality before the law extends to any person and Article 21’s protection of life and personal liberty applies to “persons”, thus covering non‑citizens present in India [3]. Therefore among the options, 'Freedom of trade and profession' (an Article 19 right) is not claimable by a British national staying in India.
