The Luhri Hydro-Electric Power Project is being constructed on the Satluj River in the Shimla and Kullu districts of Himachal Pradesh [1]. Specifically, the Luhri Stage-I project is a 210 MW run-of-river development located near Nirath village [2]. It is being developed by Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN), a joint venture between the Government of India and the Government of Himachal Pradesh [2]. The project is strategically situated downstream of the Rampur hydroelectric project and upstream of the Koldam project on the same river basin. The Satluj River, which originates from Rakas Lake in Tibet, is a major tributary of the Indus and serves as a vital resource for hydropower generation in Himachal Pradesh. Other major projects on the Satluj include the Bhakra-Nangal and Nathpa Jhakri plants [1].
